First United Methodist Church of Western Springs 4300 Howard Avenue * Western Springs, Illinois 60558 Press Release Chili cooks are invited to enter their best recipes in the third annual great chili cook off from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at the First United Methodist Church of Western Springs, 4300 Howard Ave. The entry fee is $20 and cooks need to bring two gallons of their chili. The winner will receive $100, and other prizes will be awarded. Chili lovers are invited to attend the contest for a chili meal with cornbread, salad, ice cream and beverages. Admission is $6 at the door; children 6 and under eat free. Attendees will have the chance to vote on the “people’s choice” award for best chili and to win door prizes. Chili judging will be done by members of the Western Springs Fire Department. Proceeds benefit the church’s mission work and the United Methodist Men’s Lyons Township High School scholarship fund.
